Experience Excellence with the Super Swede: Hagström's Premier Model

Description

Introduced in the late 1970s, the Super Swede has always held its esteemed status as one of Hagström's flagship models.

Each Super Swede undergoes meticulous craftsmanship, featuring a body made of mahogany, a maple top, and a set mahogany neck. Boasting a 25.5" scale length and equipped with a pair of Custom 58 Alnico pickups capable of coil splitting, the Super Swede delivers a brighter, longer sustaining, and more versatile experience compared to your average single-cut guitar.

Of course, the Super Swede is not without its signature features. It proudly incorporates Hagström's renowned H-Expander truss rod and Resinator fretboard, ensuring an unparalleled playing surface that offers exceptional stability, comfort, and tone.

Features

H-Expander Truss Rod: Unleashing Neck Stability and Sonic Brilliance

At the heart of every Hagström electric guitar and bass lies our revolutionary H-Expander truss rod. This patented design, spanning the entire length of the neck, exerts tension at both ends. Crafted from a lightweight yet durable alloy, the H-Expander truss rod enables exceptionally low action and a slender neck profile, making it a key contributor to Hagström's esteemed reputation as the world's fastest-playing guitar. Not only does it provide unparalleled neck stability, but it also imparts the distinctive tonal essence that defines Hagström instruments. With increased sustain and a rounded attack, the H-Expander elevates your playing experience to new heights.

Sustain Block Tailpiece: Maximizing String Resonance and Individuality

First introduced in 1978, Hagström's unique Sustain Block Tailpiece™ has become a signature feature on many of our solid body models. The result of meticulous design work, this innovative tailpiece ensures optimal string termination. Each string connects to a solid brass block that directly couples with the guitar's body. By isolating the blocks from one another, we eliminate interference between the strings, allowing each one to contribute its unique character to the overall sound. This maximizes string resonance and enhances the individuality of every note you play.

Set Neck: Timeless Craftsmanship for Unmatched Transfer of Energy

About Hagstrom Guitars

Hagström employs various neck joints across our range, but our set-neck construction follows the revered Mortise and Tenon joint design. This classic method efficiently transfers string energy from the neck to the body, a feature typically found in custom-built guitars of higher price ranges. Our skilled and dedicated craftsmen meticulously hand-carve each neck joint, ensuring flawless execution of this traditional technique that luthiers have favored for generations. The result is impeccable playability and enhanced sustain, elevating your performance to the next level.

Resinator Wood: Unleashing Clarity and Rich Harmonics

Resinator wood is a remarkable composite material used exclusively by Hagström. It surpasses conventional wood products in terms of uniform density and stability. Unlike traditional wooden fingerboards, Resinator wood eliminates dead spots or undesirable "wolf tones," offering a consistent and articulate sound akin to high-quality ebony. This innovative material provides a stable and clear tone while accentuating higher overtones and harmonics, adding remarkable detail to each note you play. Just like our H-Expander truss rod, Resinator wood plays a pivotal role in shaping the unmistakable "Hagström tone."

Hagström Machine Heads: Precision Tuning for Flawless Performance

Hagström models feature our own meticulously designed machine heads, available in 18:1 or 15:1 gear ratios, ensuring precise and accurate tuning. The Viking and HB series basses are equipped with machine heads featuring a 17:1 gear ratio. With our finely crafted machine heads, you can trust in their reliability and stability, allowing you to focus on your playing without any compromise.

Note: Please keep in mind that the above information is based on the knowledge available up until September 2021, and there may have been updates or revisions to Hagström's specifications since then.
